What you'll do

• Conduct thorough audits of current data science studies and machine learning workflows to assess their effectiveness.
• Reproduce existing data processing techniques and validate the performance of developed models to ensure reliability.
• Critically analyze the methodologies employed in current projects and identify areas for improvement.
• Suggest alternative approaches in data science, statistics, and machine learning to enhance analytical outcomes.
• Develop and test new models or optimizations using Python to address specific industrial challenges.
• Perform root cause analyses (RCA) to identify underlying issues affecting production quality.
• Enhance model interpretability through techniques such as SHAP, feature importance analysis, and explainability methods.
• Identify opportunities for improving industrial performance based on data insights and analysis.
• Produce comprehensive technical reports, recommendations, and associated source code to support findings.
• Present analytical results to technical teams and project stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.

Requirements

• A Master's degree (Bac+5) in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Significant experience in data science and machine learning, demonstrating a strong analytical background.
• Proficient in Python programming, with a solid understanding of data manipulation and analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of machine learning libraries such as XGBoost and scikit-learn.
• Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies and their application in industrial contexts.
• Familiarity with model interpretability methods, including SHAP or equivalent techniques.
• Strong grasp of applied statistics and exploratory data analysis (EDA) principles.
• Experience working with large datasets and time series data.
• Previous experience in an industrial environment is highly advantageous.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Apache Spark for big data processing would be beneficial.
• Experience using Jupyter notebooks for data analysis and visualization.
• Knowledge of the Parquet file format for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Background in process optimization within heavy industry settings is a plus.

Practical notes

• All positions at Citech are open to individuals with RQTH status.
• The salary range for this role is between €45,000 and €55,000 gross per year.
