What you'll do
Take ownership of the full lifecycle for new features, from initial conception and technical design through implementation, testing, and production deployment.
Provide day-to-day responsibility for services that power a major Brazilian bank, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, scalability, and continuous improvement.
Design and consume REST APIs using robust tools such as WebClient, applying reactive programming patterns with Project Reactor and the Flux paradigm.
Implement and maintain integration flows with Apache Kafka to support reliable event streaming and real-time data processing.
Write and maintain automated test suites, including unit and integration tests, to validate functionality and reduce operational risk.
Manage build and dependency workflows using Gradle, ensuring consistent, secure, and efficient artifact delivery.
Leverage AWS services including API Gateway, ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and Aurora to deliver scalable and cost-effective solutions.
Apply software architecture principles such as hexagonal architecture and domain-driven design to create flexible, testable, and maintainable systems.
Monitor applications in production using tools like AWS CloudWatch and Datadog, collaborating with operations to maintain high availability and observability.
Explore infrastructure provisioning through code, using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to automate environment setup and governance.
Contribute to technical discovery and proof-of-concept activities that evaluate new approaches to AI-driven and technology-enabled business solutions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives, timelines, and compliance requirements.
Support knowledge sharing and mentorship to elevate the overall capability and quality of the engineering organization.
Continuously assess and refine architectures and processes to support faster delivery, improved resilience, and better operational outcomes.
Requirements
Bring a strong background in software development with demonstrable experience in Java 8 or higher, and proven ability to work with Kotlin and the Spring framework.
Show advanced-level work with AWS cloud services, including hands-on implementation of API Gateway, ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and Aurora.
Demonstrate a solid history of writing and maintaining automated tests, including unit and integration test strategies that improve code quality and reliability.
Exhibit fluency in building and consuming RESTful APIs, with an emphasis on correct HTTP semantics, error handling, and security best practices.
Have practical experience with Python for scripting, automation, or integration tasks that support the broader engineering workflow.
Possess real-world experience using Apache Kafka for building event-driven architectures and managing message streams at scale.
Be comfortable managing build and dependency pipelines using Gradle, with an understanding of versioning, publishing, and automation best practices.
Have hands-on experience with reactive programming in Java or Kotlin, including WebClient usage and patterns such as Flux for non-blocking, asynchronous systems.
Show understanding of software architecture models such as hexagonal, layered, and microservices architectures, and how these apply to complex systems.
Demonstrate knowledge of reactive design principles, backpressure handling, and non-blocking patterns in distributed systems.
Nice to have
Bring experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for automated provisioning and governance.
Show familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms such as AWS CloudWatch and Datadog to drive operational excellence and rapid troubleshooting.
