About the role

Chartis is seeking a Partner, AI-Enabled Patient Flow and Enterprise Capacity Transformation to spearhead a new era in healthcare operations. In this capacity, you will own the design and execution of initiatives that leverage artificial intelligence to solve the most persistent throughput challenges facing health systems today. You will be responsible for translating complex operational data into actionable intelligence that improves access and care delivery across the entire continuum. This role requires a leader who can synthesize deep clinical workflows with advanced analytics to drive tangible improvements in efficiency and patient experience. You will own the narrative of how AI can move the needle on capacity and flow in a way that is both clinically sound and financially viable. Furthermore, you will act as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders, guiding them through the strategic implications of AI-enabled transformation. Ultimately, your work will define the future of capacity management for some of the largest healthcare organizations in the country.

What you'll do

Lead end-to-end AI-enabled patient flow and enterprise capacity transformation engagements, owning the full spectrum of strategy, analysis, and implementation for Chartis' Performance Transformation Line of Business.

Architect and scale AI-enabled command center operating models that function as the central nervous system for real-time capacity management, integrating data from inpatient, ED, ambulatory, perioperative, post-acute, and home settings into a unified, actionable dashboard.

Apply advanced data analytics and AI methodologies to dissect and optimize patient flow across the entire enterprise, targeting key performance drivers such as ED throughput, inpatient length of stay, discharge planning, and care transition success rates.

Embed predictive analytics and AI-driven decision support directly into core operational workflows like bed management and staffing, creating demand-to-staffing models that convert patient flow forecasts into precise workforce deployment and labor optimization strategies.

Drive the strategic application of AI, analytics, and automation to enhance existing processes and systems that Chartis already manages, collaborating closely with AI, data science, product, and technology teams to ensure operational knowledge is transformed into scalable, high-impact solutions.

Establish and nurture trust-based, long-term relationships with current and prospective clients, utilizing deep healthcare expertise and insight to identify systemic issues and opportunities that extend beyond the defined scope of specific consulting projects.

Act as a people leader and culture carrier by building strong, collaborative relationships with consulting colleagues, mentoring team members, and fostering a high-performance environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.

Champion the use of data visualization and storytelling to convey complex analytical findings to diverse stakeholders, ensuring that recommendations are understood and acted upon at all organizational levels.

Ensure that all engagement activities adhere to the highest standards of quality, delivery excellence, and client confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity of Chartis and its clients.

Continuously monitor the evolving healthcare technology landscape to identify emerging tools and methodologies that can be integrated into Chartis' service offerings and solution sets.

Act as a key partner to internal subject matter experts, bridging the gap between clinical operations and technical implementation to ensure solutions are practical and impactful.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.

Possess 10-15+ years of combined experience in healthcare operations within hospital, ambulatory, or health system environments, coupled with applied experience in AI, analytics, or a related quantitative field.

Demonstrate a proven track record of leading large, complex, and cross-functional consulting engagements in the healthcare sector.

Showcase a deep understanding of healthcare financials, including revenue cycle dynamics, cost structures, and the impact of operational decisions on the bottom line.

Exhibit mastery in the use of data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights that inform strategic and operational decision-making.

Display exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for executive audiences.

Maintain the highest level of integrity, judgment, and discretion when managing sensitive client information and navigating complex organizational dynamics.

Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
