Position Overview
You will own the training lifecycle for a major Epic conversion. Your primary responsibility is to create strategy, curricula, and readiness for clinical and operational teams and to drive adoption through coordinated learning and executive communication. You will lead all training activities for a large-scale Epic-to-Epic migration supporting the integration. This individual will develop and execute the overall training strategy for a complex enterprise deployment, ensuring clinicians, operational staff, and leadership are fully prepared for a successful go-live.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading training for Epic implementations, Epic-to-Epic conversions, or major Epic deployments within large Academic Medical Centers (AMCs). Success in this role requires mastery of adult learning principles, change management, curriculum development, training logistics, and the use of innovative learning technologies, including adaptive learning platforms and AI-driven knowledge management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall training strategy for a large-scale Epic-to-Epic deployment and enterprise go-live.
- Develop a comprehensive training plan aligned with project milestones, operational readiness, and go-live timelines.
- Evaluate and implement modern learning solutions, including adaptive learning platforms, AI-enabled knowledge centers, digital learning tools, and self-service education resources.
- Partner with executive leadership, clinical informatics, operational leaders, IT, and project management teams to ensure training aligns with organizational goals and workflow changes.
- Design role-based training curricula for physicians, nurses, ancillary departments, revenue cycle, and administrative staff.
- Oversee curriculum development, eLearning content, classroom instruction, virtual training, simulations, practice environments, and training documentation.
- Lead the Principal Trainer team and coordinate Credentialed Trainers, Super Users, and departmental training leads.
- Develop training governance, communication plans, competency validation processes, and readiness metrics.
- Monitor learner adoption through dashboards, assessments, completion tracking, and performance analytics.
- Coordinate dress rehearsals, integrated workflow simulations, and go-live readiness activities.
- Develop post-go-live optimization, refresher training, and continuous education strategies.
- Collaborate with change management teams to support user adoption and organizational readiness.
- Identify training risks, develop mitigation plans, and provide executive-level status reporting throughout the deployment.
Compensation Details
Hourly range: $80 - $90. Factors that are considered in making compensation decisions include, but are not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.

What You Will Do
- Orchestrating enterprise training strategy for a large-scale Epic-to-Epic deployment and clinical readiness.
- Designing role-based curricula for physicians, nurses, revenue cycle, and administrative staff to support integrated workflow change.
- Building adaptive learning paths, simulations, and digital resources using AI-driven knowledge tools and learning platforms.
- Partnering with leadership, IT, and project teams to align training with deployment milestones and operational workflows.
- Evaluating vendor solutions, digital tools, and knowledge platforms to enhance training delivery and learner engagement.
- Coordinating credentialed trainers, super users, and department leads to scale training execution across care settings.
- Monitoring completion and competency through analytics, assessments, and readiness dashboards to inform decision making.
- Leading dress rehearsals, simulations, and go-live activities that ensure preparedness across clinical and operational teams.
- Developing post-go-live refresher content and continuous learning paths to support sustained user proficiency.
- Reporting risks, mitigation plans, and executive status updates to maintain transparency and decision support.
Requirements
- You must have experience leading Epic training implementations or Epic-to-Epic conversions in large healthcare organizations.
- You must understand adult learning principles, change management, and competency validation for clinical systems.
- You must demonstrate expertise in curriculum design, eLearning development, and training logistics for complex deployments.
- You must have hands-on experience with adaptive learning platforms, AI-driven knowledge management, and digital education tools.
