We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consultant to support corporate tax accounting, income tax provision, and tax compliance engagements for clients across a variety of industries. Consultants work closely with Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, clients, and external auditors to deliver high-quality tax accounting, tax compliance, and advisory services while building meaningful client relationships. You will own the execution of technical tax calculations, documentation, and compliance deliverables that drive client success and reinforce the credibility of our engagements. This role requires a proactive mindset and the ability to translate complex tax regulations into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at various levels of the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of tax provisions, returns, and related documentation in a manner that meets professional standards and client expectations.
What you'll do
- Execute the preparation and meticulous review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, ensuring precise current and deferred tax calculations aligned with ASC 740 standards.
- Compile and scrutinize federal, state, and consolidated corporate income tax returns alongside comprehensive supporting workpapers to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with clients to address intricate tax accounting issues, navigating complex tax compliance and corporate reporting requirements with clarity and precision.
- Conduct in-depth research on nuanced federal, state, and international tax regulations, documenting findings and developing practical solutions for unique tax challenges.
- Author client-ready tax workpapers, detailed tax memoranda, provision calculations, and robust supporting analyses that facilitate informed decision-making.
- Engage actively in tax planning initiatives, process improvement projects, and specialized tax engagements that deliver measurable value to clients and the firm.
- Liaise seamlessly with Cfgi professionals, client management, and external auditors to uphold exceptional client service and foster collaborative outcomes.
- Drive the application of advanced corporate tax technologies such as GoSystems, OneSource, CorpTax, or equivalent provision and compliance software to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the development and implementation of methodologies for consolidated federal and state corporate income tax returns, focusing on multi-state and multinational compliance scenarios.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of tax documentation and deliverables, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory landscapes and best practices.
Requirements
- Bring 2-5 years of cumulative experience in corporate tax, tax accounting, tax compliance, and/or public accounting to the role.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience preparing and reviewing income tax provisions in strict accordance with ASC 740 and supporting federal and state corporate income tax compliance.
- Show prior experience preparing or reviewing federal and state corporate income tax returns within a public accounting, consulting, or corporate tax environment.
- Exhibit a strong command of tax regulations and compliance procedures relevant to federal and state jurisdictions.
- Maintain a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering error-free work products under tight deadlines.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment where interaction with clients, peers, and senior professionals is essential for success.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, producing clear, concise, and technically sound documentation for diverse audiences.
- Approach complex problems with analytical rigor, utilizing structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and develop viable solutions.
Nice to have
- Possess a CPA license or demonstrate active progress toward CPA certification.
- Hold a Master's degree in Taxation (MST) or other relevant graduate degree that deepens technical knowledge.
- Have direct experience supporting international tax matters, tax planning initiatives, tax controversy, or specialized tax projects.
- Bring prior experience working directly with clients in a consulting or professional services environment.

Base salary at $120,000 per year.
