About the role
You will design and refine operational processes for leasing, fixed assets, and insurance based on evolving business needs. You will identify control gaps and implement targeted improvements within these key accounting areas. You will investigate and resolve complex technical accounting issues with speed, accuracy, and thorough documentation. You will manage the end-to-end month-end and quarter-end close, including preparing balance sheet rollforwards, supporting schedules, footnotes, and detailed disclosures. You will conduct monthly and quarterly flux analysis and build detailed financial analytics to create leadership reporting packages. You will evaluate opportunities to automate workflows to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. You will collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Real Estate, Insurance, and AP to provide integrated financial support. You will partner closely with the Accounting Manager
Revenue, Technical Accounting, and Taxes to align on priorities and execute on technical accounting initiatives.

What you'll do
- Establish and enhance operational processes for leasing, fixed assets, and insurance to meet business objectives.
- Evaluate and address control deficiencies within leasing, fixed assets, and insurance frameworks to strengthen internal controls.
- Resolve complex technical accounting issues accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process, including balance sheet rollforwards, detailed supporting schedules, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Execute monthly and quarterly flux analysis and develop comprehensive financial analytics to support leadership decision-making.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to automate manual workflows, improving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as FP&A, Legal, Real Estate, Insurance, and Accounts Payable to deliver timely financial insights and support.
- Coordinate with the Accounting Manager
- Revenue, Technical Accounting, and Taxes to ensure alignment on technical accounting matters and deliverables.
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, controls, and technical accounting positions to support audits and reviews.
- Support the development and implementation of advanced capital strategies to address the company's short- and long-term financial goals.
- Contribute to company wide resource allocation by providing analysis and insights that enable informed investment decisions.
- Assist in the oversight of cash management activities as part of the broader finance and accounting function.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements in all accounting activities.
- Communicate financial implications of business decisions clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Requirements
- Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Have 4+ years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Demonstrate the ability to work cross-functionally and handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Show strong attention to detail, solid analytical skills, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with finance and non-finance partners.
- Display proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools for financial analysis and reporting.
- Have experience with general ledger accounting and close process execution.
- Understand the importance of internal controls and compliance within a growing technology company.
- Be comfortable working independently while contributing as part of a distributed finance team.
- Demonstrate ownership of deliverables and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
- Have the legal right to work in the United States for this position without requiring sponsorship.
- Be located in either Mountain View, California, or San Francisco, California, for this role.
Nice to have
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly in the areas of Leasing, Fixed Assets, and Insurance Accounting.
- Solid attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proven experience working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and leading complex initiatives.
- Demonstrated background in technical accounting research, documentation, and policy interpretation.
- Prior experience in the technology industry or treasury functions.
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud or other enterprise financial systems.
Practical notes
- Travel requirement is 5%, typically involving 1-2 trips per year.
- This role is based in the United States and requires authorization to work in the country without sponsorship.
- The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is $130,000 to $160,000 USD. Actual starting pay will be determined by factors such as exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
