About the role
You will own the end-to-end delivery of UK corporate tax reporting and compliance for a diverse portfolio of multinational and private equity-backed clients. This role requires you to drive the preparation of UK entity and group tax numbers under IFRS and UK GAAP, including complex GAAP-to-GAAP adjustments and consolidation treatments. You will lead client interactions to gather necessary information, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective compliance outcomes. In addition, you will advise on tax strategy, risk management, and internal controls as part of the firm's tax governance offerings. You will also handle ad hoc advisory projects such as loss planning, asset transfers, interest deductibility, and tax due diligence. This position offers significant scope to influence the UK tax services model and to contribute directly to new business development and client growth.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and related disclosures for public and private clients.
- Own the technical delivery of UK tax reporting packages, including consolidation adjustments and reconciliations to financial statements.
- Manage the full cycle of UK corporation tax compliance, from data collection through to filing and client sign-off.
- Advise clients on tax reporting controls, process improvements, and year-end close timelines.
- Support GAAP conversion projects, focusing on the tax implications of accounting policy changes and adjustments.
- Contribute to IPO readiness activities by addressing tax reporting and compliance timelines.
- Coordinate with the Cfgi US tax team to align cross-border reporting and leverage international technical knowledge.
- Develop and execute tax due diligence findings for client transactions, ensuring clear communication of tax risks.
- Partner with service line colleagues to design and deliver tax structuring solutions for commercial initiatives.
- Engage in business development by drafting proposals, participating in client meetings, and identifying new service opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across UK and US headquartered groups.
- Identify and develop new revenue streams through expansion of advisory and compliance services.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of technical training materials.
- Maintain awareness of evolving UK tax legislation and policy impacts on client positions.
- Support the delivery of tax governance frameworks, including risk assessments and control documentation.
Requirements
You must hold a relevant UK tax qualification or be advanced in the process of obtaining one. You should possess substantial experience in UK corporate tax reporting and compliance within a professional services environment. A strong technical understanding of capital allowances, interest deductibility, hybrid mismatches, and loss utilization is essential. You must be proficient in preparing group tax returns that integrate non-UK subsidiaries and handle multi-GAAP consolidation adjustments. Experience working with US headquartered multinationals and public companies is required. You will demonstrate robust knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP as they intersect with tax reporting. Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment is mandatory. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interact with senior stakeholders and regulatory contacts. You must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.
Nice to have
Prior experience advising on tax governance, risk management, and internal controls. Exposure to IPO readiness and pre-IPO tax structuring. Familiarity with cash tax modelling and scenario analysis. Experience in business development and originating new tax advisory opportunities.
