About the role
CapTech Consulting is looking for a Contracts Manager to join their team based in Richmond. This full-time role centers on managing the full lifecycle of contracts used in the company's consulting engagements. The Contracts Manager will work closely with project teams, legal advisors, and finance professionals to ensure that all agreements are properly drafted, reviewed, and maintained. What you'll do
- Oversee the full lifecycle of client and vendor contracts, from initial drafting through final execution and archival storage
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date contract repository that tracks the status of every active agreement in the system
- Work with the legal and finance departments to review contract terms and ensure they meet company standards and policies
- Track all contract renewal and expiration dates, providing timely alerts to stakeholders to avoid unintended lapses or gaps
- Participate in contract negotiations with external vendors and internal business units to secure favorable and clearly defined terms
- Generate regular contract performance reports and summaries for leadership to support strategic decision-making and planning activities
- Verify that all contracts adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and internal governance and compliance procedures at all times
- Partner with the procurement team to review requests for proposals and ensure proper contractual documentation is in place
- Handle amendments, modifications, and addendums to existing contracts as project scopes or business conditions change over time
- Coordinate with project managers and delivery leads to ensure contract timelines and milestones align with client project schedules
- Review and categorize incoming contracts by type, risk level, and business unit to support accurate reporting and tracking efforts
- Assist in the development and refinement of standard contract templates and clause libraries used across the organization
Requirements
- Proven track record of managing contracts in a consulting, professional services, or similar business environment for multiple years
- Thorough understanding of contract terminology, standard clauses, and common legal provisions found in commercial agreements
- Skill in interpreting complex contractual language and translating it into clear, actionable information for non-legal team members
- Hands-on experience with contract management software platforms and enterprise document management or repository systems
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for drafting clear agreements and presenting contract details to diverse audiences
- A meticulous and organized approach to work, with the capacity to manage a high volume of contracts at once
- A degree or equivalent practical experience in business, finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet firm deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced consulting firm setting
Nice to have
- Prior familiarity with management consulting or professional services environments and the unique contract challenges they present
- Working knowledge of federal government contracting regulations, procurement rules, and compliance frameworks for public sector work
- Experience with procurement processes, vendor onboarding procedures, and established vendor management best practices in consulting
- Hands-on familiarity with contract analytics platforms, dashboards, or data reporting tools used to track contract performance metrics
- Background in risk assessment methodologies and contract compliance auditing procedures used in professional services organizations
