CapTech Consulting is actively seeking a skilled SaaS Platform Engineer to become part of their growing team in Denver. This full-time position centers on designing, building, and maintaining software-as-a-service platforms that power critical business operations for clients across various industries. The engineer will work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and fellow developers to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions. What you'll do
Design and implement scalable SaaS platform components that serve both internal teams and external customers reliably
Collaborate closely with product teams to define platform capabilities, set technical priorities, and establish roadmaps
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code for core platform services and public-facing application programming interfaces
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues that affect platform availability, performance, and overall user experience
Participate actively in code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to established engineering standards
Automate deployment pipelines and continuous integration workflows to streamline the release process for platform updates
Monitor platform health using observability tools and respond to alerts in a timely and effective manner
Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the long-term direction, scalability, and reliability of the platform
Document platform design decisions, operational procedures, and runbooks to support team onboarding and knowledge sharing
Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge through pair programming, discussions, and structured learning sessions
Coordinate with security and compliance teams to implement access controls, audit logging, and regulatory requirements
Evaluate new technologies and tools that can improve platform reliability, developer productivity, and operational efficiency
Participate in incident response activities, including postmortem analysis and the development of preventive measures
Support the migration of legacy systems and services onto the modern SaaS platform architecture
Requirements
Demonstrated experience building and operating SaaS platforms in a professional engineering environment with measurable outcomes
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, and distributed architecture patterns at scale
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting with diverse colleagues across multiple time zones
Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language commonly used for backend service development
Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development workflows across distributed engineering teams
Experience debugging and resolving issues in complex, distributed, and multi-tier production systems under pressure
Good communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on a regular basis
A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical hands-on experience
Comfort with taking ownership of systems end-to-end, from design and implementation through operation and maintenance
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a fast-paced, iterative development culture
Nice to have
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies for managing application workloads in production environments at scale
Background in consulting or client-facing engineering engagements with external stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-hosted applications, including data protection, encryption, and access control
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and iterative delivery cycles in fast-paced, collaborative settings
Exposure to infrastructure automation and configuration management tools that support platform reliability and consistency

Cloud computing environments and infrastructure-as-code approaches for managing scalable and resilient resources
CI/CD pipeline design and implementation for automated testing, building, and deployment processes
Monitoring and logging frameworks for distributed applications, microservices, and platform components
Database systems and data modeling techniques for platform storage, retrieval, and management needs
Container technologies and cluster management platforms for orchestrating and scaling application workloads
API design principles and RESTful or GraphQL patterns for building platform interfaces
