The Senior FP&A Analyst at cabi owns the operational backbone of the company's planning and reporting cycles, serving as the key analyst between detailed financial modeling and executive decision-making. This role is responsible for driving accuracy and transparency in OpEx reporting, budget and forecast development, and enterprise-level liquidity planning. The hire will act as the primary builder and owner of financial models that explain performance, clarify variance, and illuminate future risk and opportunity. You will translate complex data into clear narratives for senior leadership, directly influencing how the business invests, scales, and serves its community of women. This position provides direct exposure to senior leadership and external stakeholders such as private equity and lenders, with a clear pathway to expanded ownership as the finance organization matures. You will partner closely with department heads to ensure financial rigor, while also championing a culture where data empowers people and decisions. Key facts
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end monthly OpEx reporting, including actuals versus budget and actuals versus prior year, with detailed variance commentary at the cost center and GL account level.
- Drive rate versus volume decomposition on key expense lines, translating financial drivers into concise narratives for the Director of Finance and CFO, and proactively highlight risks and opportunities within the OpEx forecast.
- Partner with department heads to gather cost explanations, validate coding, and ensure reporting accuracy ahead of monthly close deadlines.
- Continuously improve OpEx reporting templates and workflows to support faster cycle times and more actionable insight delivery across the finance team.
- Support the annual budgeting process end-to-end, including building department-level OpEx submissions, consolidating inputs, and managing iteration cycles with functional owners.
- Own monthly re-forecast builds across the P&L, maintaining integrity between revenue, gross margin, and operating expense assumptions.
- Build and maintain scenario models that quantify risk and opportunity ranges for the forecast, enabling proactive guidance and informed decision-making for the Director of Finance.
- Serve as the day-to-day FP&A contact for functional leaders in Marketing, Operations, Technology, HR, and Merchandising, guiding them through budget development and monthly forecast submissions.
- Translate business assumptions from cross-functional partners into financial model inputs, ensuring forecast integrity during consolidation and review cycles.
- Develop financial acumen among non-finance stakeholders through clear communication, accessible reporting, and proactive engagement during planning and review meetings.
- Support go-to-market and investment decision analysis by building business cases and quantifying trade-offs for strategic initiatives and senior leadership.
- Assist with 13-week and annual liquidity forecast development, maintaining assumptions for working capital, capital expenditures, and debt service.
- Support revolver borrowing and paydown analysis and covenant compliance tracking in coordination with the Director of Finance and external advisors.
- Maintain cash flow models that integrate P&L and balance sheet drivers, flagging liquidity risks or tightening headroom proactively for timely action.
- Contribute to monthly management reporting packages and board materials, including KPI dashboards, P&L summaries, and forward-looking commentary.
- Support ad hoc analyses requested by the Director of Finance, CFO, and other senior stakeholders, delivering timely, high-quality insights that drive action.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in FP&A or a similar planning and analysis role in a fast-scaling consumer company.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining financial models, conducting variance analysis, and translating complex data into clear narratives for senior audiences.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, scenario modeling, and dashboard development; experience with SQL and/or Python a plus.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional partners such as Marketing, Operations, Technology, HR, and Merchandising to align on budgets and forecasts.
- Understanding of retail or consumer business models, including drivers of revenue, gross margin, and operating expense is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to engage with external stakeholders such as lenders and investors, and to present financial insights with confidence and clarity.

Practical notes
This is a full-time role based in Long Beach, California. The position requires occasional travel within the region for cross-functional meetings and planning sessions.
