What you'll do
Research and identify new business leads using a variety of sources including online databases, industry publications, and professional networking platforms.
Develop and nurture a structured pipeline of prospective clients and partners, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities for the broader sales organization.
Conduct introductory outreach through email, phone, and social media to initiate conversations with potential customers and gauge their interest in Blastone's solutions.
Prepare tailored presentations, one-page summaries, and follow-up documents that clearly communicate the value Blastone brings to each prospective client.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the customer relationship management system, logging every interaction, meeting, and next step for each lead.
Represent Blastone at industry conferences, trade shows, and local networking events to build brand awareness and collect contact information from qualified prospects.
Work hand in hand with the marketing team to refine targeting lists, craft outreach messaging, and evaluate the effectiveness of lead generation campaigns.
Produce regular activity reports that summarize outreach volume, meetings completed, opportunities advanced, and pipeline forecasts for the business development manager.
Cultivate long-term professional relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across target accounts and industry sectors.
Assist the business development manager in setting quarterly outreach targets and monitoring progress toward those goals on a weekly basis.
Coordinate scheduling and logistics for discovery calls, product demonstrations, and introductory meetings between prospects and internal sales specialists.
Gather competitive intelligence and market insights through ongoing research and share relevant findings with the broader business development and sales teams.
Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences.
Prior experience in business development, sales, lead generation, or a related field, with evidence of consistent and proactive outreach efforts.
Familiarity with customer relationship management platforms and the discipline to keep records current, organized, and actionable on a daily basis.
Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage a high volume of leads, tasks, and follow-ups without losing attention to detail.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in business, marketing, communications, or a closely related area.
Willingness to travel on occasion for in-person meetings, industry events, and client visits outside the Columbus office.
A self-directed mindset with the initiative to identify opportunities and the persistence to follow through until a resolution is reached.

Comfort using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar professional networking tools to identify and research potential leads and contacts.
A solid grasp of sales fundamentals including pipeline management, lead scoring, and the key performance indicators that measure outreach success.
Ability to use video conferencing platforms for virtual meetings, screen sharing, and remote presentations with prospects and internal stakeholders.
