What you'll do

Design and develop control systems for various industrial applications, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate control systems into existing and new equipment.
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for control systems, including design specifications, testing protocols, and user manuals.
Participate in project planning and scheduling, providing input on timelines and resource allocation.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in control systems technology to enhance company offerings.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients on the operation and maintenance of control systems.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all control systems meet regulatory requirements.
Assist in the development of proposals and presentations for potential clients, showcasing Blastone's capabilities in control systems engineering.
Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials necessary for control system development.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of control system processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering or a similar role within an industrial setting.
Proficiency in programming languages such as PLC, C++, or Python for control system development.
Strong understanding of control theory, automation, and process control systems.
Experience with industry-standard software tools for simulation and modeling of control systems.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations relevant to control systems in industrial environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.
Knowledge of industrial networking protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Previous experience in the coatings or surface preparation industry is a plus.
Certification in control systems engineering or related fields.

Skills & tools

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in control systems engineering principles, along with hands-on experience in designing and implementing control solutions. Proficiency in software tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar platforms is essential. Familiarity with CAD software for system design and layout is also beneficial.
