What you'll do

• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical systems and services.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project requirements and ensure that all necessary components are included in the estimates.

• Utilize estimating software and tools to create detailed and accurate cost breakdowns.

• Work closely with procurement teams to identify and source materials and subcontractors that align with project budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for mechanical projects, preferably within the construction or engineering sectors.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents and drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey estimates and collaborate with team members.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work produced.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Nice to have

• Certification as a Certified Estimator or similar professional designation.
• Experience with project management software such as Procore or MS Project.
