Product Manager (Crypto Core)
Job description
About the role
The Product Manager, Crypto Core at Bitso is entrusted with owning the end to end planning and execution of crypto asset flows through a critical financial path. This individual acts as the primary guardian of asset integrity while enabling seamless movement across a wide array of custody partners and distributed ledger networks. Every strategic decision balances technical constraints against business outcomes, ensuring the system remains both robust and flexible. This position operates at the intersection of infrastructure and finance, where design choices directly influence risk and reliability. You will translate intricate system limitations into clear, actionable trade-offs for engineering, operations, and business stakeholders. The role demands a mindset that treats operational behavior as critically as the product output itself. At Bitso, how the work is executed is considered as important as the results that are delivered.
Key facts
What you'll do
You will establish intake standards that ensure every transaction enters the system with accurate metadata and appropriate risk context, protecting downstream processes and reconciliation integrity. Designing multiple build options will be central to your work, guaranteeing that custody limits, chain specific rules, and reconciliation requirements are consistently honored. You will define essential review checkpoints where operations, engineering, and compliance can jointly validate behavior before changes affect end users. Shipping changes safely requires robust runbooks and clearly defined rollback paths, reducing operational risk with each release cycle. Coordinating closely with external partners will be required, aligning custody providers and chain teams on data formats and timelines to prevent integration failures. You will create dashboards that provide transparent visibility into anomalies across asset movements, conversions, and settlement processes. Establishing firm guardrails will stop unsafe patterns before they can impact production environments or user funds. Partnership with AI teams will explore how intelligent assistants handle edge cases in transaction routing, supporting the responsible use of technology to reinforce system resilience. You will analyze historical incidents to identify patterns, ensuring future designs learn from past events and strengthen long term stability. Driving clarity across ambiguous requirements will be a daily responsibility, turning vague ideas into concrete specifications that engineering can execute with confidence.
Requirements
You bring a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 6 years of experience managing products within fintech or technical infrastructure settings. This background should include exposure to payments or operational systems where errors can generate direct financial impact. Your history must show consistent delivery under complexity without sacrificing quality or compliance. Comfort with technology is mandatory, even if you do not write production code, as you need to read API contracts and understand how failures cascade across asynchronous services. You proactively question where a proposed solution might break before advocating for its implementation. Clear communication allows you to serve as a bridge between engineering specialists and business stakeholders, translating technical constraints into business language and business priorities into technical direction. Operating effectively with partial information is an expected part of the role, and you will clarify risks early even when the complete path forward remains undefined. An AI-native mindset is required, using AI tools to draft specifications, synthesize information, analyze risk, and structure decisions while applying sound judgment to their output. You understand when to trust intelligent outputs and when to challenge them based on operational reality.
