What you'll do
- Lead the integration of complex programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive program schedules, tracking milestones and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scopes, and establish clear communication channels.
- Monitor program performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders and recommending adjustments as necessary.
- Facilitate program meetings, documenting action items and ensuring follow-through on commitments made by team members.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on program timelines and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program-related inquiries, fostering strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting program status, challenges, and successes.
- Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support in program management best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining a high level of quality throughout program execution.
- Assist in the development of program budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Conduct post-program evaluations to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement in future initiatives.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in program management or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs within a government or defense contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, fostering collaboration and cooperation among diverse groups.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
