What you'll do

• Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts and maintaining accurate records of materials in the warehouse.
• warehouse management systems to track materials and facilitate efficient order fulfillment.
• Collaborate with team members to prepare and package products for distribution, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
• Operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for materials handling and storage to optimize workflow.
• Support the shipping and receiving departments by preparing shipping documents and coordinating with carriers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to materials handling, including discrepancies in inventory or damaged goods.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to materials handling and warehouse operations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance, to ensure operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste in the materials handling process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in materials handling or warehouse operations, preferably in the manufacturing or distribution industry.
• Proficient in using warehouse management systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in materials handling.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials, with a focus on physical stamina and endurance.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
• A valid forklift operator certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed, to meet operational demands.

Nice to have

• Experience in the animal health or pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.
• Previous experience with inventory management software and tools.
• Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, can be beneficial for communication within the team.
