What you'll do
- Design and execute experiments aimed at developing and optimizing biological products for veterinary use, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and software to draw meaningful conclusions and inform product development strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and marketing, to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on research findings to internal stakeholders and external partners, including regulatory agencies.
- Conduct literature reviews to stay current with advancements in biological research and veterinary medicine, integrating new knowledge into ongoing projects.
- Participate in the development of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory practices, ensuring adherence to best practices in research.
- Support the transfer of technology from the laboratory to production, working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure scalability and product viability.
- Mentor junior scientists and interns, providing guidance and support in experimental design and data analysis.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving during the research process, identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Contribute to the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals to secure financial support for innovative research initiatives.
- Attend and present at scientific conferences and workshops to share research findings and network with industry professionals.
- Collaborate with external research institutions and universities to foster partnerships that enhance Bimeda's research capabilities.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on research and development.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in biological research, preferably within the veterinary or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques relevant to biological product development, including cell culture, molecular biology, and immunological assays.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- A proven track record of successful project management, demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Nice to have
- Experience with regulatory submissions and knowledge of the regulatory landscape for veterinary biological products.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Previous experience in a leadership role, mentoring or managing teams of scientists.
- Knowledge of bioinformatics tools and their application in biological research.
- Experience in conducting field studies or clinical trials related to veterinary products.
