What you'll do
- Receive incoming materials and verify their accuracy against purchase orders, ensuring that all items are accounted for and in good condition.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas, maintaining a clean and efficient workspace that adheres to safety regulations.
- Prepare materials for production by picking, packing, and labeling items according to specific instructions and production schedules.
- Operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to move materials safely and efficiently within the facility.
- Conduct regular inventory counts to monitor stock levels and report discrepancies to management, ensuring that inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to facilitate smooth operations and timely delivery of materials to production lines.
- Assist in the implementation of best practices for material handling and storage, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge related to material handling and warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate records of materials received, stored, and distributed, using inventory management software as required.
- Support the team in maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations, particularly those related to quality control and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or materials handling role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse operations is essential.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely; certification may be required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and report issues to management.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to all health and safety regulations in the workplace.

- Previous experience in the veterinary or animal health industry is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations specific to warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
