What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable backend services that meet the needs of our diverse client base.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and UX designers, to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimize existing backend systems for improved performance and reliability, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain high coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain APIs that allow for efficient data exchange between our backend systems and external applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on users.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance our backend architecture.
• Participate in agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Document technical specifications and system designs to ensure clarity and facilitate future development efforts.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to streamline deployment processes and enhance system monitoring capabilities.
• Engage in performance testing and optimization to ensure our systems can handle increasing loads as our user base grows.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Strong knowledge of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with data modeling.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, ensuring efficient data handling and integration.
• Understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum, with a track record of delivering projects on time.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes, for application deployment and management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI to automate testing and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack, to ensure system health and performance.
• Previous experience in the performance management or HR software domain is a plus.
