This role centers on guiding customers through the adoption and ongoing use of Bamboohr's compensation management platform. The specialist will act as a trusted advisor, helping organizations configure and optimize their compensation plans to align with business goals. Success in this position depends on building lasting relationships with clients and ensuring they achieve measurable outcomes from the Bamboohr solution. The Senior Customer Success Specialist will play a critical part in retaining customers and driving long-term satisfaction by proactively addressing needs and identifying opportunities for deeper platform utilization across the customer base.

What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned customer accounts throughout the entire engagement lifecycle from initial setup through long-term renewal.
- Conduct onboarding sessions and training workshops to help new users understand the platform's features, workflows, and administrative capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback, feature requests, and emerging needs in a timely manner.
- Develop customized success plans that outline clear milestones, adoption targets, and structured review cadences for each client account.
- Monitor customer usage data and health scores on a regular basis to identify at-risk accounts before they churn or disengage.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with key stakeholders to demonstrate measurable value and discuss potential expansion opportunities within the organization.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of customer configurations, goals, action items, and meeting notes in a centralized system.
- Coordinate with the sales team to support renewal conversations, expansion discussions, and upsell initiatives at the right moments.
- Troubleshoot configuration issues and work with technical teams to resolve customer-reported problems efficiently and thoroughly.
- Represent the customer perspective in internal meetings to influence product roadmap decisions and prioritize impactful enhancements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a customer success, account management, or client-facing role within a software-as-a-service environment for at least three years.
- Strong understanding of compensation management, total rewards, or human resources technology concepts and how they apply to enterprise customers.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex topics to both technical and business audiences with clarity.
- Experience building and executing customer success plans with clear milestones, measurable goals, and defined success criteria.
- Comfort with data analysis and using customer health metrics to inform proactive outreach and retention strategies.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field such as business, human resources, or technology.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site customer meetings, industry conferences, or internal team gatherings as needed.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with compensation benchmarking tools or equity management platforms is a strong advantage for this role.
- Prior experience working with enterprise-level clients in complex organizational structures across multiple countries and legal jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise platforms used in rewards and compensation.
- Background in consulting or advisory services related to talent and rewards technology in a professional services setting.
- Understanding of payroll processes and global compensation structures across different markets and regulatory environments.

- Experience with customer health scoring models and renewal forecasting methods to prioritize outreach and intervention efforts.

- Strong working knowledge of compensation design principles and total rewards frameworks applicable to organizations of various sizes.
- Ability to use collaboration tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom for consistent customer engagement and support.
- Comfort with project management platforms to track account plans, milestones, and cross-functional initiatives from start to finish.
Practical notes
- This is a full-time position with a standard business schedule, though some flexibility may be available depending on customer time zones and meeting needs.
- The role reports to the Head of Customer Success or a similarly titled manager within the Bamboohr organization.
- Candidates should expect to interact regularly with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and sales on a weekly basis.
