What you'll do

• Lead and manage multiple water and wastewater projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, and deliverables, while aligning with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental specialists, and construction crews, to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address any issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, including clients and senior management, highlighting milestones and potential risks.
• Manage procurement processes, including the selection and negotiation with vendors and contractors to secure necessary resources and services.
• Implement project management best practices and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
• Analyze project performance metrics and prepare detailed reports to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and technologies related to water and wastewater management to inform project strategies.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, providing support and fostering professional development within the team.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the water and wastewater sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other design software relevant to water and wastewater projects.
• Familiarity with grant writing and funding applications for water infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of sustainable practices and technologies in water management.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and public outreach related to water projects.
