Brand Specialist - Naperville, IL at Beauty Barrage.
About the role
Beauty Barrage is seeking a dedicated Brand Specialist to integrate into a full-service strategic sales management team focused on servicing North American markets. In this capacity, you will act as the primary on-ground representative for specific client brands within busy retail environments. Your core mission involves managing sales objectives while simultaneously elevating brand visibility and ensuring flawless execution of visual merchandising. This role demands a high degree of self-direction, a results-driven mindset, and a deep passion for the dynamic beauty industry. Success is measured by your ability to meet targeted sales goals and maintain brand integrity across every door you service.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design and implement efficient store visit sequences that maximize portfolio coverage while optimizing travel effectiveness and minimizing downtime. Your daily planning will involve dynamically adjusting routes and schedules to satisfy evolving brand targets within your assigned geographic market. Establish a highly visible and professional in-store presence through the meticulous arrangement of marketing materials and seamless coordination with internal retail teams. You will execute planograms and rigorously reset displays to guarantee that visual standards strictly align with established brand guidelines and campaign directives. During every customer interaction, you will systematically collect critical performance metrics and nuanced shopper insights to directly inform broader brand strategy and future campaigns. Coordinate timing and logistics with category managers to ensure that all promotional activities synchronize perfectly with campaign calendars and specific retailer requirements. You will independently navigate the complex membership requirements of major accounts such as Sephora, ULTA, and Bluemercury, ensuring full compliance and access. Adapt your travel routes in real-time based on distance constraints and shifting monthly schedule changes while maintaining absolute reliability in transportation and punctuality. Maintain impeccably accurate records of all activities, detailed observations, and tangible outcomes for each retail visit to support comprehensive reporting. These records serve as the foundational data for strategic reporting and future planning of brand initiatives across the North American region.
Requirements
You hold a valid driver's license and possess reliable transportation for reaching clients across different regions and varied geography without exception. You must bring a background of three to five years in beauty, cosmetics, or related retail environments that involve direct customer engagement. Demonstrate proven comfort engaging with diverse internal teams and customers during frequent in-person interactions and high-pressure retail settings. You meet the minimum age criteria as mandated by local regulations and can successfully pass all necessary background checks as part of the standard hiring process. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, alongside meticulous attention to detail in all documentation and execution tasks. You commit to rigorously following established procedures while effectively managing multiple concurrent assignments with unwavering focus and consistent quality. Flexibility is a core requirement when facing variable hours, shifting priorities, and changing work locations across a wide geographic region. An understanding of fundamental sales processes, inventory management, and plan execution is necessary for achieving success in this role. You will actively translate abstract brand objectives into concrete, actionable steps on the retail floor and in front of the consumer.
Nice to have
Previous experience with Sephora, ULTA, Bluemercury, or similar large retail chains is considered helpful, though not an absolute requirement. Familiarity with complex membership programs and day-to-day beauty retail operations can significantly accelerate your impact and reduce onboarding time. A background in fast-paced consumer goods or an understanding of trade marketing principles is a distinct advantage for this position.
