The Technical Architect for Enterprise Data plays a crucial role in shaping and overseeing the architecture of scalable data solutions across Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and core business systems. This position involves providing architectural leadership and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards while guiding engineering teams to implement high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions. The architect will collaborate with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical blueprints and long-term strategies.

What you'll do
- Develop the Enterprise Data Architecture covering Fabric, Data Lake, EDW, and analytics platforms.
- Design integration patterns for data ingestion, transformation, and consumption.
- Create architectural diagrams and reference models.
- Set standards for data modeling, metadata management, lineage, and governance.
- Implement data validation, logging, monitoring, lineage tracking, and role-based access control.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize platform costs, enhance performance, and drive operational excellence.
- Enforce architectural governance and compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and source system teams to gather data requirements.
- Convert business needs into technical specifications and architectural roadmaps.
- Review user stories and provide architectural direction to development teams.
- Assist QA and functional teams in developing testing strategies for new and existing features.
- Ensure that delivered solutions align with business objectives and architectural goals.
- Integrate AI/ML models and GenAI capabilities into data products and workflows.
- Assess emerging technologies and recommend strategies for their adoption.
- Guide teams on responsible AI practices and integration patterns.
- Conduct root cause analysis for data-related issues and identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage platform reliability, data quality, and governance processes.
- Define continuity strategies for all data and integration platforms, ensuring proactive risk management.
- Ensure that every solution includes disaster recovery and continuity considerations from the outset.
- Design continuity across ERP, CRM, Data Lake, Fabric, and analytics systems to maintain business operations during partial outages.
- Ensure teams are knowledgeable about recovery processes, documentation locations, and execution of continuity plans.
- Ensure continuity plans comply with audit and security requirements.
- Establish clear standards for vendor processes, development methodologies, documentation, and delivery timelines.
- Set quality gates, review cycles, and acceptance criteria to ensure vendor deliverables meet architectural and coding standards.
- Conduct regular checkpoints with vendor teams to monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
- Provide technical guidance to vendor engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with enterprise patterns.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in enterprise solution architecture, data engineering, and software development.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Accounting is preferred.
- Proven track record in designing end-to-end integrations, data platforms, and automation for large enterprises.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Pipelines, and the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
- Extensive experience with Power BI, including semantic models, datasets, dashboards, and reporting.
- Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
- Demonstrated ability to architect ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate diverse data sources into Azure Data Lake and EDW.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, normalization, metadata management, and enterprise data security.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, Copilot, GenAI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI API integration.
- Knowledge of SDLC, software quality practices, Jira, Git, and CI/CD.
- Experience with SaaS/Cloud ERP or CRM systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
