Systems Engineer - SD-WAN & SD-Branch (Enterprise)

About the role

In this position, you will join Arista's VeloCloud Systems Engineering team, a group recognized for its expertise in cloud-based SD-WAN solutions. You will collaborate closely with networking engineers and work under the guidance of the Systems Engineering Manager. Your role will involve aligning VeloCloud technologies with customer needs, contributing to their technological and business evolution in the context of AI advancements.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with Account teams to deliver technical support for enterprise clients and channel partners.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, identifying SD-WAN opportunities and designing solutions that align with customer objectives.
• Provide advanced support to drive sales of VeloCloud SD-WAN and campus solutions through direct engagement and channel partners.
• Conduct presentations and demonstrations, participating in sales discussions with potential clients.
• Design and architect VeloCloud SD-WAN networks and comprehensive Arista solutions, offering technical insights to customers and partners.
• Develop integrated solutions that encompass SD-WAN, campus switching, wireless, and security, ensuring adherence to Zero Trust Networking principles.
• Lead technical responses for RFIs, RFPs, and sales proposals.
• Translate customer WAN requirements into detailed network solutions, including design documents and support arrangements.
• Execute Proof of Concept (PoC) tests to validate setups for customers.
• Provide technical training to prospects, customers, and channel partners on VeloCloud solutions.
• Address customer escalations by collaborating with engineering and support teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Offer feedback to Engineering and Product Management regarding potential enhancements based on customer insights.
• Represent Arista at industry events and presentations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of pre-sales experience in data centers, campus, WAN technologies, or Cloud services, particularly through Value Added Resellers and Systems Integrators.
• Background as a Technical Marketing Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Networking Engineer in the WAN networking sector, with hands-on experience in managing POCs and field trials.
• Experience in supporting sales teams during pre-sales calls, including technical presentations and demonstrations.
• In-depth knowledge in at least three of the following areas: Ethernet/LAN switching, IPSec, IP Routing (OSPF, BGP), TCP/IP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, QoS, and SD-WAN technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud services and routing functionality in Virtual Private Clouds from AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of automation tools such as REST API, Python scripting, and Ansible is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with enterprise customers and partners.
• Capability to present technology and business solutions effectively to various audiences.
• Experience with Arista's campus portfolio, including switches, WiFi, and security solutions, is a plus.
• Knowledge of Arista EOS and CloudVision for unified management is beneficial.
• Relevant Network Industry Certification is a plus.

Arista offers competitive compensation based on the work location, skills, qualifications, and experience. The provided pay range reflects base salary only; additional roles may qualify for bonuses and equity. Sales roles are eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan, which includes commission based on eligible sales. Benefits for US-based employees include medical, dental, vision, and income protection.
