About the role
This Senior Marketing Designer role places you at the center of AMBOSS's global visual identity, where you will define and evolve the marketing design language that reaches millions of healthcare professionals. You will own the end-to-end creation of visual narratives that simplify intricate medical concepts into clear, compelling, and accessible experiences for a worldwide audience. In this position, you will act as the visual strategist and executor across all customer touchpoints, ensuring that every asset reinforces trust, clarity, and the AMBOSS brand promise. You will partner closely with marketing, product design, and markets teams to align creative work with business objectives and user needs. Your role will directly influence how students, doctors, and partners perceive and engage with the AMBOSS platform around the world. You will lead by example, setting quality standards and mentoring junior designers to elevate the entire marketing design function. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to build projects that matter in healthcare education.

What you'll do
- Own and evolve AMBOSS's marketing design language across campaigns, channels, and markets, ensuring consistency and excellence in visual storytelling.
- Design and deliver high-impact marketing assets (e.g., campaign concepts, landing pages, ads, social content, event materials, sales enablement tools, printed collaterals) that inspire and convert.
- Translate complex medical and educational concepts into accessible, engaging visuals that resonate with students, physicians, and partners worldwide.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Design, and Markets to align creative work with strategy, messaging, and user needs.
- Lead creative direction on key projects, mentoring junior designers and setting quality standards within the marketing design team.
- Continuously experiment and improve, contributing ideas for new formats, storytelling approaches, and creative strategies, workflow optimisation that strengthen the AMBOSS brand.
- Conduct design research and synthesize insights from user feedback, market trends, and stakeholder input to inform robust visual solutions.
- Define and maintain brand guidelines, templates, and asset libraries to streamline production and ensure coherence across all touchpoints.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business goals, product updates, and market requirements into clear visual narratives.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality or brand integrity.
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and iterating based on strategic and user feedback.
- Optimize assets for performance across digital and print channels, considering accessibility, localization, and technical constraints.
- Track design metrics and outcomes, using data to refine approaches and demonstrate the impact of design decisions on engagement and conversion.
- Contribute to the development of long-term creative vision and roadmap for marketing design at AMBOSS.
Requirements
- You hold a degree in design, fine arts, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in visual design, with a strong track record in marketing and brand environments.
- You demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
- You have a portfolio that showcases diverse marketing design work, including campaigns, landing pages, social media, ads, events, and print materials.
- You can clearly articulate your design process, from research and ideation to execution and iteration.
- You have experience designing for both digital and print mediums with attention to technical production details.
- You are comfortable working with complex information and distilling it into simple, user-friendly visuals.
- You have collaborated with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, matrixed environments and managed competing priorities.
- You are fluent in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in healthcare, medical education, or pharmaceutical marketing is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, educational content, or clinical workflows.
- Experience working in multilingual or international markets and adapting designs for localization.
- Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and content management systems.
- Basic understanding of data analytics and A/B testing for design optimization.
Practical notes
- This is a full-time position based in our Berlin office.
- Work is aligned with standard office hours to enable effective collaboration across time zones.
- The position does not require travel at this time, and visa sponsorship is not available at this stage.
- The start date will be determined based on business needs and candidate availability.
