Head of Customer Deployment, Hazel AI
Job description
About the role
This position owns the end-to-end deployment of Hazel AI within wealth management firms. You will architect intake workflows, establishing build, review, ship, and partner motions. The goal is to create a repeatable rollout playbook that allows firms to adopt Hazel AI quickly and reliably. You will transform complex, fragmented advisor processes into clear, scalable implementation paths. You own the design of the methodology that turns ambiguous advisor needs into structured deployment sequences. This role requires you to establish the operating model that dictates how teams collaborate across the deployment lifecycle. You will define the team structure and playbooks that facilitate rapid adoption and reduce time to value. A primary focus will be converting intricate advisor data and workflows into a scalable onboarding motion applicable to a wide array of firms.
About Altruist and Hazel
Altruist is reshaping the multi-trillion dollar wealth management sector by delivering an AI platform for financial professionals. We enable advisors to grow their book, optimize resources, and provide improved client outcomes. Hazel AI is the engine driving 10x growth, efficiency, and value for these advisors. It is a core component of Altruist's mission to make financial advice more affordable and accessible. This role is hybrid, requiring four in-office days per week in our San Francisco FiDi office.
Your responsibilities
You will establish the post-sales implementation function from the ground up. This includes defining the methodology, operating model, team structure, and playbooks that facilitate rapid adoption. A primary focus will be turning intricate advisor data and workflows into a scalable onboarding motion applicable to a wide array of firms. You will define and refine a tiered deployment model. This involves creating distinct motions for middle-market firms and small-to-medium businesses, each with specific time-to-value targets. You will own the data migration and integration strategy at a systemic level, solving implementation risk structurally rather than on a case-by-case basis.
Building internal expertise across the wealth management technology stack is essential. This includes CRM, custodial systems, financial planning software, and file storage integrations. You will partner closely with Product to convert field learnings into tangible product improvements, such as integration templates, automated data ingestion, and self-service onboarding capabilities. You will also own core commercial post-sales outcomes for the business. This includes driving net and gross revenue retention, ensuring swift time-to-value, and generating expansion revenue. Hiring, leading, and developing a team of implementation specialists will be a key function as the business scales. Collaboration with Sales on demos and pre-sales support will be necessary to reinforce the broader commercial motion.
Compensation and location
This role is based in San Francisco, California. The engagement model is hybrid, with four days per week required in the office. The compensation package offers a base salary between $180,000 and $220,000.
Requirements
You must bring three to five years of experience leading implementation in financial services. You must have a proven ability to manage complex advisor data and fragmented workflows, converting them into repeatable onboarding processes. You must demonstrate a history of owning metrics that prove the success of deployment methodologies. The capacity to partner closely with engineering and product teams under pressure is mandatory. You must own metrics and playbooks that demonstrate clear value across a diverse set of firms. You must exhibit strong judgment in prioritizing initiatives with ambiguous ownership. You must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. You must have a deep understanding of the challenges facing modern wealth management businesses.
