Advisor Onboarding Specialist
Job description
About the role
is responsible for owning the end-to-end transition of advisory firms onto the platform, ensuring a smooth and confident handoff from sale to launch. This role requires deep ownership of implementations from discovery through a fully launched, self-sufficient firm, where every interaction reinforces the client's original decision to partner with Altruist. The hire will run structured discovery, build tailored implementation and training plans, and hold both the advisory firm and internal teams accountable to firm milestones. Credibility in this position comes from understanding how advisory firms actually operate, not merely how the software functions, and translating that into actionable workflows. You will lead cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to remove obstacles and drive accountability. A key responsibility is orienting firms to Altruist support and service structures early so they know where to go before any issue arises. You will also run a weekly cadence that reports on transition health, covering risks, owners, and next steps rather than just activity. The role demands curiosity about what the firm is trying to accomplish, not just what they explicitly requested, and the ability to surface friction before advisors encounter it. You will set up the steady-state relationship with clear escalation paths and documented open items before rolling off, ensuring continuity and long-term success.
Key facts
What you'll do
Own the delivery of client implementations from post-sale through launch, migrating committed assets on plan and accelerating time-to-value.
Develop and maintain detailed implementation plans, managing timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations throughout each engagement.
Lead cross-functional implementation efforts across Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Compliance, driving accountability and removing obstacles.
Run structured discovery before kickoff, then tailor the plan and the training to how this firm actually operates.
Take ownership of the firm relationship when Sales hands off, so the transition feels like a continuation of the same team rather than a restart.
Orient the firm to how support and service work at Altruist early, so they know where to go before the first issue lands.
Run a weekly cadence that reports transition health - risks, owners, and next steps - not just activity.
Cover all seven core areas thoroughly and document them as you go: advisor experience, client experience, account opening, funding, trading, fee billing, and reporting/integrations.
Train to the firm's workflows rather than the feature list, and surface known friction before advisors run into it.
Get curious about what a firm is actually trying to accomplish, not just what they literally asked for.
Stay transparent and solution-focused when the answer isn't clean: work it through with them, park what would derail a session, and own the open items either way.
Set up the steady-state relationship well before you roll off, with escalation paths and open items documented.
Bring implementation friction and product gaps back to Product and Operations with enough specificity to act on.
Maintain momentum and clarity across the engagement by summarizing decisions, owners, and next steps after every interaction.
Approach each firm as unique, adapting templates and playbooks to fit their operating rhythm without compromising critical controls.

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Must be able to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and high standards.
Must be willing to learn and follow Altruist's processes, tools, and compliance requirements without deviation.
Must be available for hybrid in-office days as specified, with clear planning for schedule alignment across teams.
