About the Role
This position is responsible for owning the complete top-of-funnel motion for Hazel AI, operating within the Altruist platform. The role is hybrid, requiring four days per week in the San Francisco office located in the Financial District. The successful candidate will architect and execute a pipeline generation engine from the ground up, establishing the foundational structure for demand creation across both commercial and enterprise segments.
This is a builder role. The playbook is undefined; you will create it. Your primary mission is to build a high-tempo, high-accountability culture that drives predictable revenue outcomes for the Hazel AI product line.

Key Responsibilities
You will manage and grow a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs), running two distinct outbound motions. The first is a high-velocity commercial outbound motion targeting SMB and mid-market RIA firms. The second is a strategic, longer-cycle enterprise outbound motion targeting large firms and enterprise accounts. You will own top-of-funnel metrics end to end, ensuring a seamless connection between lead generation and pipeline conversion.
Your core duties include establishing the daily cadence for BDRs and SDRs to maintain relentless momentum. You will craft the commercial outbound playbook specifically for the SMB and mid-market RIA segments, while simultaneously building the tailored sequences and messaging for the enterprise track. Inbound lead management is a critical function; you will establish inbox ownership to ensure no lead receives a delayed response. also, you will build a performance-driven (PG) environment utilizing leaderboards, spiffs, and transparent accountability to foster a culture of excellence. This includes hiring, onboarding, and developing a larger team, with a clear plan to scale the commercial and enterprise outbound tracks efficiently. You will also review pipeline metrics in weekly reviews to adjust strategy and activity levels, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation to market feedback.
Your Impact
- Own the full top-of-funnel pipeline engine, encompassing inbound lead qualification and outbound prospecting across commercial (SMB/MM) and enterprise RIA firms.
- Build and run two distinct outbound motions with unique sequencing, messaging, rep profiles, and success metrics.
- Drive a high-tempo pipeline generation culture through daily standups, weekly pipeline reviews, monthly targets, and real-time activity dashboards.
- Hire, onboard, and develop a team of six BDRs/SDRs, split strategically across commercial and enterprise outbound tracks.
- Build the outbound playbook from scratch, including sequences, personas, messaging frameworks, territory coverage, and activity minimums tailored to the trust-first, relationship-driven RIA audience.
- Manage inbound lead routing and response SLAs to ensure a robust inbound demand flow where no lead goes cold.
- Install a true PG culture through leaderboards, spiffs, recognition, and accountability, setting the tone for the team daily.
Requirements
You possess a proven track record of handling full top-of-funnel ownership for both outbound and inbound demand generation. You operate with integrity and care within a regulated financial services market. You have prior experience managing a team of six or more outbound reps. You demonstrate a deep understanding of the commercial SMB, mid-market, and enterprise RIA segments.
Compensation and Location
Location: USA
Engagement: Hybrid, with a requirement of four in-office days per week.
Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000.
