What you'll do

• Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze quality data and develop strategies for continuous improvement in product quality and operational efficiency.
• Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, including defect rates and corrective actions taken, to communicate findings to management and stakeholders.
• Lead training sessions for employees on quality control processes and best practices to foster a culture of quality within the organization.
• Investigate customer complaints and quality issues, providing timely resolutions and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and collaborate with procurement to ensure that materials meet specified quality standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality management systems to enhance the effectiveness of our quality assurance processes.
• Participate in the development of new products by providing quality input during the design and development phases.
• Assist in the preparation for external audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring that all necessary documentation and evidence are readily available.
• Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including audits, inspections, and corrective actions taken.
• Foster a proactive approach to quality management by encouraging team members to identify and report potential quality issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, and experience with auditing practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey quality-related information to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in using quality management software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Nice to have

• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor) is a plus.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry or related sectors would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with quality management software and tools for tracking and reporting quality metrics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to address quality issues effectively.
• Familiarity with project management tools to assist in quality improvement initiatives.

Practical notes

• This position is based in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, and may require occasional travel to other company locations or supplier sites.
• The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
