Key facts

What you'll do

Architect and construct backend systems, APIs, and microservices that serve as the foundation for our data platform. Write and maintain production-grade application code that adheres to strict quality and performance standards. Participate in high-level system design and technical decision-making to ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term scalability. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff through code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals while maintaining a clear understanding of dependencies and trade-offs. Implement solutions that optimize for reliability, scalability, and security across our cloud infrastructure. Contribute to the definition and evolution of engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns. Leverage cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure to deploy and manage scalable services in production environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering complex software systems.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Practical knowledge of microservices and distributed system architecture, including patterns for service communication and data consistency.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including managed services and deployment strategies.
• Ownership mindset with effective communication skills, capable of taking initiative and clearly articulating technical decisions.
• Understanding of database systems, including both relational and NoSQL solutions, and their appropriate application.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is expected.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools to ensure system health and performance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Golang and Typescript, which would allow for deeper contributions across our technology stack.
• Background in high-growth SaaS environments, where adaptability and rapid learning are essential.
• Familiarity with analytics systems or data platforms, enabling better collaboration with data-driven initiatives.
• Previous experience in a lead or mentorship capacity, helping to foster growth and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Practical notes

The base salary range for this position is $191,360.00 to $287,040.00. Total compensation includes potential bonuses, commissions, and stock options.
