What you'll do

• Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that can inform business strategies and improve operational performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure that data collection methods meet organizational needs.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and other critical metrics for stakeholders.
• Utilize statistical techniques to interpret data and provide insights that support decision-making processes across various departments.
• Perform data cleansing and validation to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analyses.
• Assist in the design and implementation of data models that facilitate efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, using data storytelling techniques.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization tools to continuously improve analytical capabilities.
• Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organizational policies.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on best practices in data analysis and interpretation.
• Support ad-hoc data requests and analyses as needed to address specific business challenges.
• Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure and ensure seamless data flow across systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role, preferably within a corporate or government environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R, with a strong understanding of statistical methods.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to create compelling visual representations of data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards, particularly in relation to data privacy regulations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning techniques and predictive analytics.
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data storage solutions like AWS or Azure.
• Previous experience in a government contracting environment or working with defense-related data.
