What you'll do

• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Participate in the monitoring of system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Support the deployment of new technologies and upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records for future reference.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related discipline, including internships or co-op positions.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux, and their administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA Network+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
• Previous experience working in a government or defense contracting environment.
