What you'll do

• Oversee the daily operations of the cargo movement system, ensuring that all processes are executed in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, and customer service, to streamline cargo handling and improve overall efficiency.
• Analyze cargo movement data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and implement actionable strategies based on findings.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cargo movement operations, ensuring that all team members are trained and compliant.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of cargo, minimizing delays and optimizing storage space.
• Utilize advanced software tools and systems to track cargo shipments, manage documentation, and ensure accurate reporting of cargo status.
• Conduct regular audits of cargo movement processes to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare detailed reports for management on cargo movement performance, highlighting key metrics and suggesting improvements.
• Liaise with external partners, including shipping companies and customs officials, to facilitate smooth cargo transit and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Provide training and support to team members on best practices in cargo management and the use of relevant software tools.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in cargo movement systems to ensure Bamboohr remains competitive.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions to align cargo movement operations with the overall business objectives of Bamboohr.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cargo movement operations or logistics management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in logistics software and cargo management systems; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to cargo movement and international shipping.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD, or similar).
• Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment, particularly in air or sea freight operations.
