About the role
You will report directly to the Manager of Systems Engineering and own the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure that powers Zeta Global's data-driven marketing technology platform. This role requires you to inject hands-on experience to solve complex infrastructure problems while mentoring less experienced team members and documenting standard operating procedures. You will work closely with team members distributed around the globe to provide 24x7 support, including occasional on-call responsibilities during evenings and weekends. The position involves maintaining the current environment, meeting user needs on a daily basis, and balancing strategic improvements with operational stability. You will be responsible for integrating hardware, software, network, process, and procedures across business units to ensure a cohesive and reliable infrastructure.
Key facts
What you'll do
Perform system builds, decommissions, and lifecycle management for Linux, Windows, and associated infrastructure components as required by business demands.
Maintain established Linux and Windows environments, processing and resolving tickets through established workflows to ensure minimal disruption.
Administer user and group management across LDAP and Windows Active Directory, ensuring proper access controls and identity lifecycle processes.
Execute patching of operating systems, firmware, and BIOS for all managed systems in coordination with change management procedures.
Monitor and maintain existing infrastructure services including DNS, LDAP, NTP, monitoring platforms, and environmental controls.
Assist in efforts to integrate hardware, software, network, process, and procedures from various business units to standardize and streamline operations.
Execute a detailed plan for data center consolidation, covering system builds and teardowns, and migration activities to alternate data center facilities.
Support the integration of hardware, software, network components, and processes required for end-to-end infrastructure operations.
Provide 24x7 support to global systems, including occasional on-call responsibilities to address critical incidents and service needs.
Leverage your experience to solve problems, implement best practices, and develop documentation for standard operating procedures.
Help less experienced team members complete tasks by guiding them through complex activities and sharing contextual knowledge.
Ensure that all infrastructure activities align with organizational standards, security policies, and operational requirements.
Continuously look for opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency of the infrastructure environment.
Act as a technical liaison between infrastructure teams and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and coordinated solutions.
Requirements
Must have 4 or more years of experience administering Linux and Unix systems, including Solaris, AIX, or other Unix-like platforms in production environments.
Must have 1 to 2 years of experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies managing virtualized server environments.
Must have 1 to 2 years of experience with shell scripting using languages such as bash, Bourne shell, Korn shell, sed, and awk, as well as scripting in Perl, Ruby, Python, or PowerShell.
Must have 3 or more years of experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory domain services, covering versions from 2003 through 2012 R2.
Must have 3 or more years of experience with TCP/IP networking concepts, addressing, routing, and firewall behaviors in enterprise environments.
Must have 3 or more years of experience managing hardware platforms from vendors such as HP, Dell, and Cisco UCS in production data center scenarios.
Must have 4 or more years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Lync or Skype for Business, in professional settings.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely and consistently as required for data center equipment handling.
Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights as required for racking, cabling, and hardware maintenance activities.
Nice to have
1 to 2 years of Citrix administration experience supporting virtual desktop and application delivery platforms.
1 to 2 years of experience with F5 load balancer administration, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
1 to 2 years of backup administration experience with platforms such as NetBackup, Networker, or Bacula in enterprise environments.
Practical notes
The role may require occasional on-call responsibilities outside regular business hours for global support coverage.
Physical ability to lift 50lbs and climb ladders is required as part of routine data center operations.
This position involves coordination with team members in multiple time zones, requiring flexibility for scheduled shifts and maintenance windows.
