Full Stack to take ownership of the cloud-based platform that powers wellness and beauty businesses worldwide. This role centers on leading a team of developers who build and maintain the management software used by thousands of spas and salons across multiple countries. The individual will drive architectural decisions, enforce coding standards, and ensure the platform scales reliably as the customer base continues to expand. Collaboration with product managers and designers is a core part of shaping features that meet real business needs and deliver meaningful value to end users, while also influencing hiring decisions and helping build a world-class engineering organization.

What you'll do

Lead a team of engineers across the full development lifecycle for the Zenoti platform. Architect and implement features that span both the frontend and backend of the application. Review code submissions from team members to maintain consistency and quality in the codebase. Design and refine the system architecture to handle growing numbers of business users. Partner with product and design stakeholders to define technical approaches for new capabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments to minimize customer impact. Establish best practices for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of all applications. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions. Evaluate and adopt new tools and frameworks that can improve team productivity. Communicate technical trade-offs and progress updates to non-technical stakeholders in a clear manner. Own the roadmap for technical debt reduction and ensure the codebase remains clean and extensible. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance metrics and identifying areas for optimization. Ensure documentation is kept up to date for all architectural decisions and system designs. Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and technical deep dives across the engineering organization. Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions to prioritize work effectively.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and driving technical direction in a fast-paced product environment. Strong command of modern web technologies including frontend frameworks and reliable backend services. Ability to design distributed systems that are scalable, maintainable, and highly performant under load. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and automated deployment pipelines for continuous delivery practices. Experience mentoring developers and fostering a positive culture of engineering excellence within cross-functional teams. Proficiency in writing clean, well-tested, and documented code across multiple layers of the application. Solid understanding of database design, API development, and third-party integration patterns and best practices. Track record of delivering reliable, secure software on schedule in a fast-paced and agile setting. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical judgments under ambiguity. Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

Prior experience working in the wellness, beauty, or hospitality software domain is a strong advantage. Familiarity with real-time data processing, event-driven architectures, and message queue systems is helpful. Background in mentoring engineering managers or tech leads within a rapidly growing organization. Contributions to open source projects, published technical writing, or conference talks on platform engineering topics. Experience with performance optimization and scaling applications to handle high volumes of concurrent users.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for building interactive and responsive user interfaces. Experience with server-side languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js for backend services. Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases for data storage and retrieval. Familiarity with RESTful and GraphQL APIs for communication between frontend and backend services. Comfort with containerization and orchestration tools for deploying and scaling applications. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices for reliable and repeatable releases. Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows across distributed teams. Knowledge of caching strategies, message brokers, and other patterns for system performance.

Practical notes

This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, and requires regular on-site presence at the company office. The Lead Engineer will report to the engineering director and work within a cross-functional team. Regular collaboration with product managers and designers is expected throughout each development sprint. Candidates should be prepared to participate in on-call rotations for production support and incident response. The position offers the chance to shape the technical direction of a growing platform serving a global customer base.
