Senior Backend Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will lead the design and delivery of core Yes AI infrastructure, including the MCP server, natural language integration layer, and the Semantic Context Layer that encodes Yes Energy's power market expertise. You will provide architectural guidance on how Yes Energy data from Oracle and Snowflake is structured and exposed to AI agents and LLM-powered applications. You will work closely with data engineering, operations, and infrastructure to build services that support real-time, AI-driven customer workflows. You will engage actively in all product life cycle phases, emphasizing design and strategic planning while mentoring Backend Engineer IIs and elevating the technical bar of the team. You will drive technical discussions and partner with engineering leadership on design and planning decisions, and you will engage directly with cross-functional stakeholders such as product, domain experts, and occasionally customers to shape the right solutions. This role requires a deep commitment to high-quality communication, continuous improvement, and taking pride in delivering reliable backend systems that power critical energy market analytics.
