You will define, strategize, and execute the roadmap for the Power Core Engineering team, driving initiatives that enhance our processes and deliver exceptional Developer Experience for our Engineers. You will lead, mentor, and grow engineering managers and technical leaders, enabling them to develop their careers while building high-quality technologies across our application stack. You will ensure strong collaboration across distributed and cross-functional teams, fostering alignment and shared ownership. You will drive the design, integration, and delivery of Bid-to-Bill solutions that support front-to-back energy market workflows, ensuring seamless alignment between trading, settlement, compliance, and reporting processes. You will champion a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and psychological safety, creating an environment where innovation can thrive. You will collaborate closely with Agile Software Development teams and client subject matter experts to ensure the successful delivery of software projects that meet business and regulatory demands.

- Champion a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and psychological safety within the engineering organization.
- Collaborate with Agile Software Development teams and client subject matter experts to ensure successful delivery of software projects.
- Forecast staffing and resource needs to meet business demands and grow the Engineering Team by recruiting, hiring, and retaining curious and driven Engineers.
- Oversee the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software systems that meet the needs of our customers and the grid.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for quality, velocity, and operational excellence to guide team performance.
- Promote best practices in software architecture, design, and testing across the codebase and lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and data protection standards in all engineering activities.
- Stay current with emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and future roadmap options.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
- Bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience across software development and delivery.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineering Leader with a servant leadership mindset, a passion for product development flow, and a strong customer focus.
- Show a minimum of 5 years of experience managing small teams and building complex products in an agile environment.
- Prove a history of scaling and leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced settings.
- Demonstrate the ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution while maintaining clarity of priorities.
- Maintain a strong background in software development, architecture, and modern technology stacks relevant to energy market systems.
- Exhibit passion for creating and improving efficient software development practices and engineering workflows.
- Possess excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Show an excellent track record of collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver great products and outcomes.
- Have direct experience with Agile Software Development methodologies, working effectively in Kanban environments.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Lean Software Development, DevOps, and CI/CD practices as a preferred enhancement to your contribution.

- Experience with energy market data, trading, or related utility domain applications.
- Background working with regulated industries and compliance-driven environments.
- Familiarity with real-time data processing and analytics platforms used in grid operations.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

Practical notes
This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $175,000 to $200,000 USD, with compensation aligned to location and experience. The role is hybrid or remote, with work available from Yes Energy's core offices in Boulder, Colorado; Richmond, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; Boston, Massachusetts, or fully remote within the United States.
