This role converts client briefs into influencer strategies that shape media investment. The position researches audiences and maps creators to guide strategic choices and execution priorities. You will translate ambiguous business questions into clear creator-led plans that balance reach, relevance, and risk. You will define the rules of how creators are discovered, evaluated, and prioritized for each market and brief. You will partner with media, creative, and client teams to ensure recommendations are practical and aligned with business goals. You will own the narrative that connects data, audience insights, and platform behaviors into a coherent influencer roadmap. In this role, you are expected to act as the local expert on Malaysia's creator landscape and to elevate the standards of how influencer strategies are designed and reviewed. Your work will directly influence how WPP Media advises clients and allocates resources across the media mix.

What you'll do
Interpret client briefs to define the scope, audience, and success criteria for influencer initiatives.
Research and size creator segments across relevant platforms to identify where target audiences are most active.
Map creators against strategic criteria such as relevance, reach, authenticity, and risk profile.
Use creator discovery and analytics tools to evaluate performance, audience quality, and content fit.
Develop influencer shortlists and recommend allocation of budget and assets based on data and local insights.
Draft strategy documents, audience insights, and campaign recommendations that are clear and decision-ready.
Build and maintain structured databases of creators, content, and outcomes to support ongoing analysis.
Translate complex data into concise narratives for stakeholders through clear slides and supporting documentation.
Collaborate with management, creative, and execution teams to ensure alignment from insight to delivery.
Challenge assumptions by asking rigorous questions about audience, platform, and commercial trade-offs.
Own the end-to-end quality of influencer recommendations, from initial hypothesis to final review.
Share practical learnings and playbooks that improve how future campaigns are planned and executed.
Support the development of junior team members by providing feedback and examples of strong strategic work.
Act as the operational link between strategic intent and day-to-day execution with partners in the business.
Represent WPP Media in discussions with clients and partners, demonstrating thought leadership in influencer marketing.
Requirements
You have 2-4 years of professional experience in influencer marketing, digital marketing, or social strategy.
Your background shows practical understanding of how campaigns are planned, executed, and measured.
You understand the dynamics of Malaysia's creator ecosystem and how platform practices affect strategy.
You are comfortable working with both qualitative insights and quantitative data to inform decisions.
You can communicate recommendations clearly to both strategic and operational stakeholders.
You use tools like PowerPoint and Excel to build structured, evidence-based recommendations.
You are organised and pay attention to detail in managing timelines, assets, and documentation.
You are able to work a hybrid schedule with regular presence in the office around four days a week.
