What you'll do
- Orchestrate and execute strategic account plans that align our service offerings with the evolving priorities of water and wastewater utilities.
- Champion our solutions within client boardrooms, translating technical complexities into persuasive narratives that drive decision-making.
- Forge robust partnerships with municipal leaders and industrial stakeholders to uncover opportunities and solidify long-term value.
- Analyze market dynamics and regulatory landscapes to identify risks and growth avenues for both our clients and our organization.
- Architect and deliver compelling proposals that address specific client pain points and demonstrate the distinct value of our operations.
- Navigate complex procurement and contracting processes to secure multi-million dollar agreements that reinforce our market position.
- Serve as the primary liaison between our client and our internal operations, engineering, and technology teams.
- Leverage an extensive professional network to build awareness and generate new leads within the water sector.
- Monitor competitor movements and industry trends to ensure our strategies remain proactive and highly relevant.
- Represent Woodard & Curran at key trade shows and industry events, enhancing our brand visibility and credibility.
- Mentor junior team members on sales techniques and client relationship best practices to elevate the entire group.
- Apply creative storytelling techniques to make intricate technical details memorable and impactful for diverse audiences.
- Maintain meticulous records of all client interactions and pipeline activities to ensure strategic foresight and continuity.
- Identify emerging technologies and innovative startups that could influence our operational roadmap and client expectations.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of MBR, SBR, and other treatment processes to discuss methodologies without hesitation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 10 - 15 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Knowledge of O&M, Contract Operations, water, wastewater, and public works industry.
- Ability to prospect for leads and determine appropriate client management activities to capture, maintain, and grow client accounts.
- You will focus on conducting sales activities, leading co-workers through the sales process, identifying new offerings, performing negotiations, and supporting contracting for multi-million dollar contracts.
- Membership and active participation in professional/technical associations.
- Frequent travel by car and air (up to 75%).
- Water/Wastewater Operator certification, Professional Engineering registration, and/or other appropriate certification preferred.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located without requiring sponsorship at the time of hire.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the water or environmental sector is mandatory.
- You must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with C-level executives effectively.
Practical notes
This role requires up to 75% travel.
Based on your location, you have the ability to be fully virtual, or if you are located near one of our office locations, you can organize a hybrid work arrangement.
