About the role
You will act as the primary point of contact for designated business units to manage and coordinate third party risk activities. This position focuses on maintaining and improving our risk framework through hands-on oversight of vendor relationships and internal compliance. You will own the end-to-end oversight of third party risk processes, ensuring that every interaction aligns with our established controls and governance standards. The role requires you to serve as a bridge between business units and risk functions to translate high-level policies into actionable procedures. You will be responsible for driving consistency and clarity in how third party risks are identified, evaluated, and reported across the organization. This position demands a proactive mindset, as you will continuously monitor the risk landscape and recommend improvements before issues escalate. You will contribute directly to the integrity of our financial operations by safeguarding vendor relationships and upholding regulatory expectations. Your work will have a direct impact on the stability and reliability of Wise's global payment infrastructure.

What you'll do
- Conduct proactive risk assessments to identify and prioritize threats from third party partners across multiple business lines.
- Manage the full lifecycle of due diligence and external surveys, including monitoring controls and closing assessment gaps systematically.
- Define and track key performance indicators and service level agreements to ensure vendor quality and operational reliability.
- Design and execute exit strategies for vendor contracts to ensure secure data transfers, service transitions, and minimal business disruption.
- Coordinate directly with internal relationship owners and external providers to resolve performance issues and maintain compliance.
- Perform detailed reviews of third party documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and map their impact on existing vendor relationships to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Support the implementation of new tools and processes to strengthen the third party risk management framework over time.
- Collaborate with legal, information security, and business operations teams to align risk activities with cross-functional objectives.
- Maintain detailed records of all risk assessments and interactions to support audits, reviews, and management reporting.
- Escalate critical risks to senior leadership in a timely manner, providing clear context and recommended mitigation strategies.
- Continuously refine risk indicators to improve visibility into vendor performance and emerging threats.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders on risk priorities and remediation plans.
- Contribute to the development of policies and standards that enhance the maturity of third party risk management practices.
Requirements
- Proven background in overseeing or managing vendor and third party risk processes within a regulated environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams, executive leadership, and external partners in a professional manner.
- Ability to work across internal departments including legal, information security, and business operations with confidence and respect.
- High level of organization and precision when handling complex technical documentation and detailed risk assessments.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks independently in a high-speed environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in using third party risk management (TPRM) frameworks to guide evaluations and decision-making.
- Understanding of vendor performance management practices and how they connect to risk outcomes.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and regulatory compliance monitoring in financial services.

Practical notes
