Senior Risk Manager
Job description
About the role
Senior Risk Manager, Latam & MEA
We are seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join our team as an individual contributor responsible for the Latam & MEA region. This role owns the regional risk agenda, driving strategies that protect organizational stability. The position requires deep expertise in regional market dynamics, regulatory obligations, and sector-specific best practices to ensure resilient operations.
Your Mission
You will serve as the central risk authority for Latam & MEA, responsible for developing and executing a tailored global risk management strategy. Your work will ensure consistent application of risk methodologies, policies, and procedures across all operational entities. You will conduct comprehensive risk self-assessments, guiding remediation efforts and tracking closure to maintain robust internal controls.
Collaboration with product teams is essential. You will embed risk insights into product changes, new market launches, and emerging issues specific to the region. This includes monitoring and analyzing regional market trends, product risks, incidents, regulatory developments, and other emerging factors to assess organizational impact and recommend suitable mitigation strategies.
You will oversee risk management tools and systems, utilizing technology and data analytics to improve monitoring, reporting, and decision-making. Working closely with business units and functions, you will design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans. This includes monitoring control effectiveness and recommending necessary enhancements.
Providing timely and accurate risk reports to senior management and the board is a core duty. These reports will highlight key risk exposures, trends, and emerging risks within the region. You will also develop and maintain relationships with regulators, industry peers, and external stakeholders to remain informed on regulatory shifts and best practices.
Profile Requirements
Candidates must bring experience from the financial industry, with background in both first line and second line roles. A proven track record of leading risk management functions is required, including the development and implementation of regional frameworks, policies, and procedures. You must demonstrate strong business engagement and team leadership capabilities.
Your expertise must cover at least one of the following: operations, enterprise risk, or regulatory risk management within financial services. A solid understanding of risk management principles, risk systems, reporting tools, policies, and frameworks is mandatory.
You will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. This enables you to assess complex issues and devise practical solutions within a dynamic and multicultural setting. A strong grasp of regional market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and geopolitical influences impacting the region is necessary to quantify risks across business lines and geographies.
The role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will interact effectively with senior management, regulators, and external stakeholders across the region. Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is essential, as is navigating the complexities of subsidiary operations.
You will drive results internally with global teams while fostering a culture of local ownership and initiative. A strong commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism is required. You will actively promote a robust risk culture and encourage collaboration across organizational operations.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a comprehensive benefits package. This includes RSU equity in a rapidly growing company. You will have access to a flexible working model; during the first six months, office presence will be required most days. Following this period, a minimum of three office days per week is expected.
Additional benefits include an annual self-development budget, health and dental allowance for you and dependents, and company-paid life insurance with an EAP program. You will receive 30 days of vacation plus 3 "Me" days and 1 volunteer day annually, along with a paid 6-week sabbatical after four years.
