The Principal Technical Recruiter will own the complete lifecycle for critical Product and Engineering hires in the Americas region, directly impacting the trajectory of technology and product development. This role requires a strategic partner who analyzes current and future team needs while advising hiring managers on precise role requirements and market alignment. The position focuses on building and strengthening team culture through a deliberate, inclusive recruitment process that reflects Wise's mission of moving and managing the world's money efficiently. What you'll do
- Analyze current and future team needs, advise hiring partners on role requirements, and map technical positions to market realities.
- Design and execute sourcing campaigns that reach specialized technical communities across digital platforms in the Austin and broader US tech landscape.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with top technical talent, guiding candidates through a remarkable, structured recruitment experience from initial contact to offer.
- Champion inclusive hiring practices that ensure diverse perspectives are represented in product and engineering discussions.
- Implement and refine tracking systems that visualize funnel data, identify bottlenecks, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Evaluate and manage vendor relationships and marketplace options to address specialized skill gaps.
- Partner with the Employer Brand and Marketing team to execute targeted recruitment marketing campaigns and events.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership on talent mapping, competitor analysis, and compensation benchmarking for key roles.
- Use data to uncover hiring challenges within technical functions and optimize processes for global scalability and efficiency.
- Mentor or manage a small team of junior recruiters or sourcers, sharing best practices and supporting their professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with People to ensure a seamless experience from recruitment through onboarding.
- Leverage advanced sourcing tools, semantic search algorithms, and automated workflows to identify passive candidates.
- Assess cultural alignment and values during interviews to ensure candidates thrive in Wise's collaborative environment.
- Navigate ambiguity with agility, adapting quickly to evolving priorities and emerging HR technologies.
Requirements
Eight or more years of in-house recruitment experience with a proven track record in technology, specifically for product and engineering roles.
A tech-forward mindset that includes demonstrated experience with advanced sourcing tools, semantic search algorithms, or automated workflows.
The ability to evaluate candidates based on cultural alignment and values, beyond technical skills and resumes.
Agility as a self-driven operator who thrives in fast-paced, changing environments.
Adaptability to navigate ambiguity and quickly adopt emerging HR technologies.
Strong creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tech stacks and modern recruitment tools.

Compensation and benefits
Base salary range of 140,000 to 180,000 USD per year.
