Key facts

What you'll do

• Install various types of piping systems, including stormwater, sewer, and water lines, in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct site assessments to determine the best methods for pipe installation and ensure proper alignment and grading.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop project timelines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as excavators and trenchers, to facilitate the installation process.
• Perform routine inspections of installed piping systems to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff and apprentices, sharing your knowledge and skills to enhance team performance.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Civil Pipe Layer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of various piping materials and installation techniques.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to pipe installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and tools relevant to pipe laying.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Nice to have

• Certification in pipe laying or related construction fields.
• Experience with trenchless technology and advanced installation methods.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices in construction.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
