The position provides direct exposure to site development, infrastructure upgrades, and clean energy initiatives. The role is critical in helping firms like Ans establish a presence in renewable energy markets.
Responsibilities include creating construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Designers develop plan views, sections, elevations, and detailed layouts. They interpret engineering concepts and convert them into accurate graphical representations. Tasks involve producing grading, drainage, road design, and erosion control documents. Designers review internal and client standards to ensure compliance. They assess different design approaches for feasibility, regulatory adherence, and site limitations. Collaboration with team members ensures timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an Autodesk AutoCAD certification program or equivalent drafting experience is required. An associate or technical degree in CAD, civil engineering technology, or a related field is preferred. The position targets individuals with zero to two years of experience in civil design or drafting. Strong attention to detail is necessary when reading standards and converting them into construction graphics. Designers must evaluate site constraints and perform constructability checks with supervision.
The role involves translating intake information into clear CAD models. Designers produce grading and drainage graphics following established procedures. They coordinate sections, elevations, and details with engineering partners. Early evaluation of codes and site restrictions helps refine design options. Designers create road and erosion control exhibits for client review. They assemble drawings so partners can approve and proceed with implementation. The position supports updates for municipal standards and continuing education goals. Designers also update documentation to include solar and battery storage components.
The position is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is a full-time engagement offering a salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 annually.
