What you'll do
- Lead and manage field operations, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget while adhering to quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity across all field activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure that projects are adequately supported.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address challenges, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Foster a culture of safety and accountability among field teams, providing training and support to promote best practices.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and project status updates.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring that service levels are met.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with the HR department to recruit, train, and develop field staff, ensuring that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices, integrating new technologies and methodologies into field operations as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in field operations management, preferably within the construction or plumbing industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving operational goals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of budgeting and financial management.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in field operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice to have
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and installation practices.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a field operations context.
