About the role
In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for driving the licensing strategy for WildBrain in South Korea. Your primary focus will be on securing new licensees in specific categories while achieving set revenue targets and fostering growth for the domestic market. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on management to ensure the successful execution of licensing agreements and the overall brand strategy.

What you'll do
- Identify and secure new licensing partners within designated categories, aligning with revenue goals and annual growth targets for the domestic market.
- Oversee the daily operations related to category management, including financial oversight, contract negotiations, account management, and relationship building.
- Manage the negotiation of new contracts, ensuring that terms align with company objectives and meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with brand management teams to develop and implement cross-promotional retail strategies that enhance distribution for licensees.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with licensing partners, licensors, and various stakeholders across multiple brands.
- Foster an entrepreneurial and innovative culture within the office, working closely with product development, finance, legal, and brand & retail teams.
- Actively seek out and engage potential licensees who have not previously partnered with WildBrain CPLG.
- Provide ongoing feedback regarding the progress and outcomes of commercial initiatives while supervising the realization of contracts.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in licensing, sales, business development, brand management, or a related field; direct experience in licensing is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of the licensing industry, including aspects such as licensee acquisition, pitching, contract processes, product approvals, and retail execution.
- Exceptional interpersonal and networking abilities, with a strong focus on relationship management.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach and a strategic mindset.
- An innovative and creative thinker with a passion for sales and management.
- Self-motivated with the capability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and achieve commercial results independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and the ability to navigate complex situations and find effective solutions.
- A university degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is preferred.
- A flexible team player who can collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Nice to have
- Experience in the entertainment or consumer products sectors.
- Familiarity with market analysis and trend forecasting.
- Previous experience working with international brands or in a global context.
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and retail placement.
- Multilingual abilities, particularly in Korean and English, are advantageous.
