Senior Materials Program Manager

You will own materials readiness and supply execution across new product introduction and sustaining programs at a high-velocity hardware company. You will drive clear-to-build decisions by aligning material availability with program milestones, manufacturing capacity, and launch targets. This role sits at the intersection of hardware engineering, global supply management, and operations to safeguard product continuity. You will enable successful production ramps and deliver a world-class member experience through disciplined tracking and risk communication. You will partner cross-functionally to translate product roadmaps into executable material plans while balancing continuity of supply with working capital efficiency. You will establish structured reviews to assess supply risk, allocation exposure, and capacity constraints. You will coordinate with internal manufacturing sites and external partners to ensure alignment across all build locations and ramp scenarios.

What you'll do

• Own materials readiness across the full product lifecycle, from early development builds through mass production and sustaining.
• Drive clear-to-build processes, ensuring material supply aligns with program schedules, demand forecasts, and manufacturing capacity.
• Partner cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Global Supply Management, Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to translate product roadmaps into executable material plans.
• Lead structured reviews to assess supply risk, allocation exposure, and capacity constraints, and drive mitigation plans to closure.
• Monitor demand, supply, and inventory signals to balance continuity of supply with working capital efficiency and inventory health.
• Coordinate with internal manufacturing sites and external partners (CM/ODM/JDM) to ensure alignment across all build locations and ramp scenarios.
• Establish disciplined tracking mechanisms for material availability, shortages, recovery plans, and ramp readiness, with clear communication and escalation of risks that could impact launch timing or customer commitments.
• Translate program roadmaps into executable material plans while maintaining a sharp focus on cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for material-related escalations, coordinating rapid responses to supply disruptions and recovery efforts.
• Champion data-driven decision-making by leveraging analytics, AI tools, and dashboards to improve visibility into material status and future risks.
• Define and maintain material control plans, including inventory policies, lead time strategies, and supplier engagement practices.
• Support the execution of test, validation, and launch activities by coordinating material release, lot traceability, and compliance requirements.
• Drive standardization of materials processes across programs to improve scalability and repeatability.
• Represent materials interests in cross-functional governance forums to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and trade-offs.
• Collaborate closely with finance to model inventory impacts, cost trade-offs, and working capital implications of material decisions.
• Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve material-related issues that could affect yield, throughput, or product stability.
• Proactively identify dependency gaps and develop contingency strategies to mitigate risks across the supply base.
• Establish clear metrics and reporting cadence to track material readiness, risk reduction, and ramp progress against program milestones.
• Facilitate alignment between global supply partners and internal teams to ensure consistent execution across regions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance materials planning accuracy, responsiveness, and resilience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 8+ years of experience in materials program management, supply planning, or operations program management within a high-volume hardware or consumer electronics environment.
• Demonstrated experience supporting material readiness for NPI and high-volume production, ideally within CM, ODM, or JDM manufacturing models.
• Strong analytical and program management capabilities, with experience aligning demand, supply, and manufacturing execution to program schedules.
• Experience working across global manufacturing footprints and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, supply chain, operations, and finance.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while building scalable processes and driving structured execution.
• Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 15%) to support manufacturing sites and key supply partners as needed.
• Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship for this position.
