About the role
You will own the strategy and roadmap for key monetization experiences across the WHOOP business, including pricing, promotions, upsells, membership plans, product bundles, and new business model opportunities. You will develop and prioritize monetization initiatives using rigorous analytical business cases that balance opportunity size, customer impact, business value, effort, and strategic importance. This role requires deep ownership of monetization KPIs, using quantitative analysis of customer behavior, funnel performance, unit economics, and financial outcomes to uncover opportunities and drive sustainable growth. You will lead end-to-end product discovery, delivery, and iteration in close partnership with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and other Product teams to turn ambiguous problems into scalable customer experiences. You will design and run a rigorous experimentation program, forming explicit hypotheses, structuring A/B tests, and evaluating trade-offs across conversion, revenue, retention, and customer value. The ideal candidate will combine strong quantitative and analytical skills with customer empathy and product intuition, leveraging experience in mobile app development and consumer subscription businesses with multiple product lines to evolve the WHOOP business model.

- Develop and prioritize the monetization roadmap using rigorous analytical business cases, balancing the size of the opportunity, customer impact, business value, level of effort, and strategic importance to determine where the team should invest.
- Own and deeply understand monetization KPIs, using quantitative analysis of customer behavior, funnel performance, unit economics, and financial outcomes to uncover opportunities and make roadmap decisions that contribute to company growth goals.
- Lead end-to-end product discovery, delivery, and iteration - partnering deeply with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Finance, and Marketing to turn ambiguous monetization opportunities into scalable, high-impact customer experiences.
- Design and run a rigorous experimentation program: form explicit hypotheses, structure A/B tests, evaluate trade-offs across conversion, revenue, retention, and customer value, and translate learnings into a compounding roadmap of wins.
- Develop a deep quantitative understanding of customer behavior across the member lifecycle, using data and customer insights to identify patterns, segment opportunities, understand willingness to pay, size potential impact, and build compelling business cases for investment across multiple products and offerings.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and other Product teams to connect product decisions to measurable business outcomes and ensure alignment on metrics, assumptions, and success criteria.
- Translate complex analytical findings and strategic considerations into clear product requirements, user stories, and prioritized backlogs that guide cross-functional execution.
- Champion a data-informed mindset by defining and tracking key metrics, monitoring performance post-launch, and using insights to iterate and optimize experiences over time.
- Identify and size monetization opportunities across the member lifecycle, evaluating where new pricing tiers, bundles, or offers can meaningfully contribute to revenue and retention goals.
- Evaluate the trade-offs between short-term revenue impact and long-term customer value, ensuring product decisions support sustainable growth and strong member experiences.
- Collaborate with Analytics to define experiments, set up measurement frameworks, and interpret results to validate hypotheses and refine product strategy.
- Build business cases that clearly articulate the expected value, required investment, risks, and dependencies of proposed monetization initiatives to secure alignment and resources.
- Work closely with Marketing and Finance to forecast revenue impact, model scenarios, and integrate product decisions into broader business planning.
- Stay up to date with market trends, competitor moves, and emerging monetization practices to bring fresh ideas and benchmarks to the team.
- Act as the primary product owner for monetization initiatives, making decisions based on evidence, trade-offs, and alignment with company objectives.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of product management, growth, or related experience with a demonstrated track record of shipping consumer products or experiences that produced measurable business impact.
- Strong experience developing and prioritizing product roadmaps, with demonstrated ability to build analytical business cases, quantify opportunities, evaluate competing investments, and translate insights into clear product priorities.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to independently structure complex analyses, develop a deep understanding of customer behavior, identify meaningful patterns in customer and business data, and translate those insights into product strategy and decisions.
- Experience working with consumer subscription businesses with multiple product lines, offerings, or revenue streams, ideally including direct experience developing mobile app products.
- Strong understanding of growth and monetization mechanics, with experience in areas such as pricing, promotions, upsells, subscription economics, experimentation, or business model development.
- Strong product intuition and customer empathy paired with a rigorous, data-informed mindset; able to form explicit hypotheses, validate assumptions, and connect product decisions to outcomes such as conversion, revenue, retention, lifetime value, and unit economics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to drive alignment across technical and non-technical partners, articulate trade-offs clearly, and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving problem spaces.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
- Must be located in Boston, MA or be prepared to relocate to the WHOOP office in Boston, MA to fulfill the requirements of this role.
