This role owns the end-to-end commercial strategy and relationship management for critical electromechanical components that power next-generation wearable products. You will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to guide innovative products from concept through mass production. What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end commercial relationship with strategic electromechanical suppliers, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, cost management, and long-term supplier performance.
- Lead supplier engagement throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, ensuring successful product launches, manufacturing readiness, capacity planning, and supply continuity.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with global suppliers and manufacturing partners, primarily across Asia, driving performance, continuous improvement, and long-term partnerships.
- Partner cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to identify risks, resolve issues, and deliver products on schedule.
- Develop commodity strategies that balance cost, quality, supply, and technology roadmaps while supporting WHOOP product development and business objectives.
- Drive supplier performance through business reviews, KPI management, and data-driven decision making while holding internal and external partners accountable.
- Navigate ambiguity, influence decisions across organizations, and communicate effectively to drive alignment in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel globally up to 25% to support supplier relationships and new product development.
- Evaluate and qualify new electromechanical component sources while ensuring compliance with internal quality, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product specifications, validate prototypes, and support tooling and process development for high-volume manufacturing.
- Monitor supply market dynamics, assess risks, and implement mitigation plans to protect product timelines and performance.
- Partner with Finance to model total cost of ownership, conduct cost analysis, and identify savings opportunities across electromechanical components.
- Establish and maintain robust supplier scorecards, driving continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions where needed.
- Support the execution of new material introductions, ramp management, and post-launch reviews to ensure alignment with product and business targets.
- Act as the primary supply subject matter expert for electromechanical components, providing guidance and thought leadership to internal stakeholders.
- Leverage ERP and PLM systems such as NetSuite and Arena to maintain accurate records, track supplier performance, and enable transparency.
- Embrace and leverage AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related technical field. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in Global Supply Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Commodity Management supporting high-volume consumer electronics or consumer hardware products.
- Experience leading suppliers through fast-paced New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp.
- Experience managing strategic supplier relationships with overseas suppliers, particularly across Asia, including component suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Experience sourcing electromechanical components for wearable devices or other consumer electronics is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills with a proven ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and the ability to independently drive complex initiatives from concept through execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Willingness to relocate to the WHOOP office in Boston, MA, if necessary to fulfill the role.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

Practical notes
- Travel may be required up to 25% globally to support supplier relationships and new product development.
- This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
