Wellhub is seeking a Frontend Manager Software Engineer to lead frontend development efforts and shape the technical direction of their platform. What you'll do

• Lead a team of frontend engineers through the complete software development lifecycle from planning to deployment.
• Design and implement responsive user interfaces using modern web technologies and scalable development frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with product managers to define feature specifications, prioritize work, and agree on technical approaches.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high code quality and enforce best practices across the entire team.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through pairing sessions, code walkthroughs, and constructive one-on-one feedback discussions.
• Architect scalable frontend solutions that handle complex application states, routing, and diverse user interaction patterns.
• Participate actively in sprint planning ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement with the broader product team.
• Optimize application performance to ensure fast load times, smooth animations, and consistently excellent user experiences.
• Work alongside designers to translate detailed mockups and prototypes into functional, pixel-perfect, accessible web components.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, measuring team velocity, and proposing meaningful process enhancements for the group.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical documentation practices to ensure the team has clear, up-to-date references for all major systems.
• Evaluate and adopt new frontend tools and frameworks that can improve developer productivity and application quality over time.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading frontend engineering teams and delivering high-quality software products on schedule within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript with deep understanding of modern web platform APIs and browser internals.
• Extensive experience managing end-to-end frontend architectures for large-scale, production web applications in a collaborative team setting.
• Excellent ability to mentor and grow engineering talent within a distributed, remote-first organization across multiple time zones.
• Solid understanding of responsive design principles, accessibility standards, performance budgets, and optimization techniques for web platforms.
• Familiarity with version control workflows and modern CI/CD pipelines used in frontend development and release processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating effectively with cross-functional product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
• Ability to balance technical leadership responsibilities with hands-on coding contributions to the shared codebase and architectural decisions.
• Experience working in agile or scrum environments with iterative development cycles and regular stakeholder demonstrations and retrospectives.

• Experience with component-based design systems and design token management for consistent, scalable UI development across multiple products and platforms.
• Background in building developer tooling, internal component libraries, or shared packages that improve team productivity and consistency.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and strategies for frontend applications including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms commonly used for hosting, monitoring, and scaling web applications.
